The Azerbaijan Tourism Board, in collaboration with local tourism partners, is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM London 2024) international tourism exhibition held in the UK capital to promote Azerbaijan’s tourism potential.
The national stand represents Azerbaijan with the participation of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Shahdag Mountain Resort, and a total of 10 local tourism industry partners.
During the exhibition, visitors are provided with comprehensive information about Azerbaijan’s history, cultural heritage, national cuisine, ski resorts, wine tourism, wellness and eco-tourism opportunities, as well as winter tourism.
The national stand offers interactive experiences for visitors to explore Azerbaijan’s tourism potential. Guests can sample Azerbaijani wines and traditional sweets, as well as embark on a virtual journey through the country’s breathtaking landscapes using VR (virtual reality) headsets.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Elin Suleymanov, visited the national stand and familiarized himself with the progress of the exhibition and the tourism products on display.
The World Travel Market (WTM) exhibition has been held annually since 1980, bringing together tourism authorities and industry representatives from across the globe.
Running until November 7, the event is expected to host 5,000 exhibitors from 182 countries, along with over 51,000 tourism industry representatives.
Notably, during January-October 2024, the number of British visitors to Azerbaijan reached 20,973, reflecting an 11% increase compared to the same period last year.
